Hey anyone near Tulsa

Post by dbarker »

I remember there being a couple of you near by.

I'm currently looking for someone to rehab the engine and brakes on my old 68 and get her roadworthy. I ran into problems im not competent enough to do. Between school and my busted up legs I just don't have the energy to really get into the truck right now.

In the trucks current state: it need's a ring job, and a complete rebuild of the entire brake system to figure out what's wrong. fluid is disappearing to unknown places, but none gets to the wheel cyls.

If anyone is interested in a side project let me know :help: ... I'd like to get the truck back on the road and just don't have the tools/know how/energy. I'll provide whatever parts are needed. If needed I can compensate you for your time. Or if anyone is interested i have a couple old junk camaros you can have  .

Thanks,
Drew :fr:

Follow the drip of fluid, you will find the leak, keep at it. Good luck on your project.

if the master is bad it is going under the floor mat or carpet inside the truck.

When I first got mine I had the same problem but I just kept topping of the master. When I finally pulled the drums to check my shoes I found that every one of my brake cylinders were leaking, you would be amazed how much fluid those shoes can soak up.

I'm thinking the shoes soaked it up, cause the carpet's good and dry. No visible leak. everything is as tight as the day it left the factory. I'm not a great mechanic but I know enough to get by on most things. I've looked everywhere for the dumb brake fluid... and by golly I can't find it anywhere... lol It's just too hard on my legs to be messing with it so I'm gonna farm out the work on her.

I've got a line on a guy willing to fix it up for me in return for my junker camaros.. Ill get him to fix that engine and get the brakes working. That way my old girl will be back on the road.
