thanx guys, it was inevitible. The owner/boss's good friend (and the owner/boss's wife's best friend's fiancee) decided he wanted to get out of his service truck and into management. Well, there was only the Owner and I in management, so ...................they have been trying to get me on something for quite a while .... not sure if they did or exactly what , they just eliminated my position.

That wasn't offered as an option, they are "downsizing". Matter of fact I believe the guy is keeping his service van and getting my company pickup. (Glad to get that darn Chevy out of my driveway anyway :D )It's a small family company with a core of about 12 guys who have wored there for 6-10 years and together at another company together before that. If you're not one of them or conform to the group or fit the boss's wife's friend circle you are always on the cutting block.
I just didn't fit in! been there 2-1/2 years and was more stressful every day. Was making me into a grouchy old man. I'm not perfect by any stretch but I had a couple of guys trying to undermind me constantly. Threw me under the bus every chance they got.

Sorry ... guess I'm getting a little bitter! With God's help I'll conquer that!

Good luck on finding a BETTER job! Good things always come to the good people, and kharma always happens to the bad ones...might be tough initially, but the economy has to get turned around eventually. I am in the aerospace industry, and we are seeing signs of a turnaround, finally, which should bode well for other industries as well...will keep my fingers crossed for ya'...
