Jacking the truck higher?

Post by Sparx Macgyver »

I need to boost the truck just a bit higher so I can slide the trans and jack under it. I was thinking of getting some 4 ton jack stands, but thought I'd see if any of ya;all have a suggestion before I pop the cash for'em.

this is a regular trans jack? or is it home made? a regular trans jack should wheel right under there. but if you have the trans on the jack and are trying to roll it all under there at once. just take the trans off and slide the trans under. then sroll the jack under the truck. then scoot and lift and workj the trans back up on the jack. the c4 isnt that heavy to move back onto the regular trans jack.

I have wheel ramps similiar to these: http://www.jcwhitney.com/portable-car-a ... map=127245
I do not drive up on them, I jack up each wheel individually and slide them under the tire. These are what I used during my engine/trans swap.
