My truck must be in shock...I think this is the first time in its 42-year history it has somewhere to live inside. I keep expecting it to be like one of those old ships they salvage--perfectly preserved on the sea floor, but they turn to mush within an hour of being exposed to air.
Now that I have somewhere to work on her, I HAVE to get the exhaust manifolds replaced. The driver's side is still cracked and the passenger side is leaking like a sieve, truck sounds terrible. Bolts are REALLY stuck, of course.

My vacuum booster for the brakes is leaking air (you can hear it when you stand on the pedal) and I expect this isn't helping the truck idle very well. I imagine it's easiest to simply replace the entire unit? Not even sure you can rebuild the boosters any longer at home.
I did completely rebuild the front brakes:

Which made a huge difference, as you might imagine. I don't think the pads had ever been changed and had worn down to bare metal.
Also found the towing limit when I delivered the antique Ferguson I sold. With calcium-filled rear tires it probably weighed close to 5000 pounds, plus my trailer weighs 1200. Could not maintain 55 MPH on any grade. But temperature barely went up a needle's width and she did the job without complaint.
The paint is a love/hate thing with me. It's clearly worn out, but it's also the original paint. Hate to lose that but would like to see about at least getting the worn-through places protected without making the truck look awful.
Anyway, you can wake up now. Sorry I'm not around much, I have a million things going all the time.
