Someone is screwing with you or stealing them. Simple as that.

I've never heard of bumpsides eating the caps.

:yt: I don't lose any gas caps but my truck doesn't leave the driveway very often :D . I say get another locking cap and park the truck somewhere you can see it from inside the house so you can find out what's going on.

i thought at first dad was just screwing with me...but surely after about 2 weeks either the joke would be over or it'd be on his bump....and it is parked in our front yard and they dissappear during the day..surely no one would walk up have time to steal a locking cap and go away especially with how oftem my younger siblings are outside :/ i dunno1 :?

Keep an eye open, it may be the Chevy next door, you can't trust them. They are

how could they steal a locking gas cap without a key? it had to be someone with a key that fit your lock. don't park so close to the street i guess.

Not that you would do it, but I've been known to leave them at the pump. Now I make it a point to put the cap in the bed when I gas up so at least it is with me when I notice it isn't on.

i was by your place tonight and your dads truck has a red rag hanging out of the tank. it has to be someone with a older filler neck that that cap might fit. everything newer screws in to the filler neck. i had soem fe and bumpside things come up missing last year too. i think they go tin the cab and stole my a/c idler pulley and my clutch pivot bracket that bolts to the frame. lucky i had two of both of them. but it still makes me mad they stole them.

Yes fordman I agree. At the cemetery I have things stolen now and then. Sprinklers, hoses, ect. Even when my equipment is locked up they have a go at trying to break in. Nothing worse then a theif, they are to darn lazy to earn it so they steal it from someone who has worked hard to earn it. Really fries my bacon :x . (Taking stuff from a cemetery is just  )
