I'm trying to figure out what to do with the rear step. The bed will dump and I need room for a Reese type hitch so I'm thinking about cutting it off below the lights and maybe adding a slide in step for the hitch. I love being able to walk up into the bed.

There's a 6BT in the future with stacks and I need to fab a headache rack for the front and the dump mechanism.

Ideas, opinions?

Well, I couldn't wait. Half hour with the sawzall and I like how it turned out. I also started cutting out the pieces need to make the dump pivot point. If you squint real hard you can see a grabber blue cab and white wheels. Add up some 4" stacks , a 4" channel headache rack and it should be alright.

I like it, the angles look really good on that bed, and I like that you can see the tires! Any ideas on lights for the rear yet?

Wow, doesn't look like how it started at all, looks great now!
I wouldn't of thought you could of turned that "bed" into something as nice as you have now.

I like it! It looks real clean and I like how the back end turned out. I would put some chrome tipped mud flaps back there too!

Dogg, for lights I'm not sure. I have some swap meet specials but really liked the old school round lamps as well. For the markers I want to weld some plate under it inset at around a 45` angle to aim down towards the ground but still be visible. That way I won't be as apt to rip them off...

Ryan, I liked the original bed, just I don't do welding every day :) The best thing is this deck measures 7'6" x 10'6" less the 12" deep front stoarage area and the bed looks short on this truck. It should have a 12' bed.

4x4, I have some new polish diamond plate for the flap tips, been there and loved the look.

Good morning Jamie!

I really like what you've done with this! There's something special about the mix of flatbed utility with the benefits of something relatively low-profile.

Hey Robroy, having one of your days when nothing goes right... Truck wouldn't start, battery died trying, smacked my head on the hood latch too. First time I ever hit back at it and now my hand hurts too. Noticed the engine is leaking coolant on top of the intake and the fuel line was spraying fuel at a hose.

After walking away I decided to clean up the garage (ongoing process). I moved some stuff around the garage and squished a stink bug when I grabbed the vacuum cleaner and that smell does not wash off without removing the skin.

I did dig out the lights and I got the 3" rounds one at the swap meet and the side markers have the grey metal frames so they will look good once mounted. I also found a chunk of 4" electrical conduit (4.5" diameter) and it looks the right size for the stacks.

Going out for round II

What day geez, maybe the rest of the day you need to grab a beer and watch some football man! Worry about the bump later!

No football, no beer either (yet). Spent the afternoon cleaning out the garage and working on a friends '97 Polaris trail boss 250. Funny how a corroded spark plug wire will keep them from running... After a few hours charge the truck fired right off as well. Heck, it even moved under it's own power :)

Looking good. It needs some stack pockets and racks so you you can heap on the firewood.

It has pockets already, the side plate pop right out. Yesterday the oldest and I removed the bed and flipped it over to do the pivot mount and fab up the light brackets.
