Yellow Trucks....

Post by green68250 »

If you have a yellow truck could you please post a picture or 2 and let me know the color you have. I am trying to decide what yellow I want to paint my truck and I would like to see some different shades. I am thinking of painting my truck the factory light yellow, but i have sen some other brighter yellows I like but I dont know the name of the color.

Thanks for the help,
Corbin

All jokes aside, ezernut9mm had a yellow bump & I liked the color on his truck. It popped with the Lightning wheels he had on it. You might hit him up

Yeah I have seen his truck, I like the way it came together. The box is getting sandblasted now so I have some body work to do before I need to pick a color.

There are more shades of "Corvette Yellow" than "Corvette" engines in streetrods.

I have a truck that's a '86 Corvette Yellow,
It may not be the best choice but it seems a little darker , not so sticky sweet like some of the earlier ones. :2cents:
I painted mine in "87 and they've made a lot of nice colors since then.
What you might want to do is look at a "fleet color " book they usually have a bunch of shades next to each other to compare.
Then buy a pint and see if you like it before you buy a gallon. :2cents:

I am thinking about PPG Flash yellow. There is a '65 F-100 that is painted that color that was in Custom Classic Trucks awhile back. http://www.customclassictrucks.com/feat ... to_03.html

I think that looks pretty cool. Its more of the color I have been looking for. Its pretty close to that explorer yellow which is what the cab is painted now.

Good day Green68F250!

Excellent thread--I enjoy yellow very much as well.

Perhaps you'd find the few photos in this thread interesting: How do I pick out the ideal, bright yellow paint?

I hope your weekend's ducky Green68F250!
