Ignition Control Module? - mustang

Post by sargentrs »

Maybe a little OT but ya'll know more about these things than anybody else I've found. My stepson has an '85 mustang gt with a 302, 4bbl carb. His ignition control module just quit on him. I pulled the one off of my truck (installed a month ago) to check and it started right up. I can't find where mustangs ever came with that combination of engine/carb so I'm not sure what to get. It's a Wells module and has the numbers 1339L01 stamped in ink on it. I can just use the same one from my truck, huh? I asked for a '77 F150 with a 302 ignition control module for my truck and she runs good with it, except for the topic you guys have been helping me with. Should work for the 'stang too, shouldn't it? Thanks for all your help and advice!

Napa TP 40 module. This is the blue grommet unit. Must of the modules are the same, some have an additional connector for whatever spec ford was trying to meet, (altitude, cali emissions etc)

just my :2cents:
