crash

Post by fordman »

i crashed my truck tonight on the way home. it was a 88 dodge dakota. it had a utlity bed on it. and i just got it running good again. anyway i was thinking about soem personal stuff while i was driving and what i woul ddo abotu it. and i was going to fast and i missed the corner at the T intersection. i went over into the ditch on the other side. almost into a farmers field but i got caught in the ditch. the ditch was pretty deep. and it bent and twisted the frame on the truck. broke out the rear glass all over us. and jambed the passenger door shut. we had a small load of hedge in the back which made the truck heavier than usual. so that may or may not have helped. but anyway we had loggs in the seat with us. some went over the hood into the farmers field. i think we got everything picked up. it even broke my chain saw. that made me kind of mad. i took a picture of the truck but it was dark out. i dont know if i can lighten it up or not. i will post a better picture when i get back down to the truck. oh injuries. my wife go thit in the back with one of the pieces of wood. a small scratch on her knee. she says her arch of here foot hurts from jambing it into the tire compressor i had on the floor. i have two scratches on my forhead. possibly from flying glass from the rear. i also have both of my bird knucles scracthed. one is gashed into the skin. i am now feeling a slight headache. but i think that will go away. we were able to pull the truck out of the ditch even though it seemed high centered. in this first picture is when i got the truck 2 years ago. i had even replaced that messed up door.

Glad that everyone is not seriously injured and sorry about the truck...

When you see the truck in daylight, it may be better (or worse) than you think...

this morning my right hand is swollen behind both of my middle fingers and i really can't use it. so i wanted to leave this message with my left hand. i wont be doing much if any typing today. or maybe a few days. i had to sleep with my right hand in the air held up by the back of the coach. i'm going to make a phone call to try and find someone to help me button up my pants.

Glad you are still here to type what you are, Craig. Flying debree is always bad, but logs and a chainsaw?

Those could have made things a lot worse than they are.

some of the damaged caused by the bed was because the front two bed mounts were already broken. i found that out when i put the larger gas tank in last week.
