Medical Scare

Post by BobbyFord »

Some of you may have noticed that I haven't been around much lately (some of you may have welcomed it  ).
I recently had a medical scare and wasn't sure what was going to happen. My blood was sent to UC Davis for analysis and I waited almost 6 weeks to find out the results. I was really sweating it but everything came out ok.
I have a little different outlook on things now. Even with the current economic situation, troubles elsewhere in the world, etc., life is good. We are in tough times but we are tough, resilient people and we will prevail.
Sometimes we need a little slap in the back of the head to realize how fortunate we really are. I got slapped in October.
To anyone experiencing tough times; have faith and hang in there. Life is good.

Glad to hear things are OK Bobby. It's sobering to be reminded of how fragile life is and your outlook is spot on in that "Life Is Good" regardless of your financial situation.

As long as you've got your health, you're a "Wealthy" person. Course having a Bump with a killer 385 series motor like yours is icing on the cake of life!

You're right about "scares" like that making you take the time to smell the roses.

God Bless!

Amen Bobby
Glad you are doing well. Sometimes I think those forever weeks of waiting do you more harm than the original problem!!!
I had a mini-stroke back in the summer of '06, oh my does it change your outlook. I have been a Christian all my life but it was still a awaking event. I tell you what, I appreciate every moment I get to be in the same room with my kids!!!

Glory be to Jesus,

God Bless,
Ed

Very well spoken Bobby, I had the same scare last year. Required blood tests before surgery came up wrong, which then led to more blood tests.
We live a very short time here, best to make the best of it.

I don't let too many things pass by me anymore.

"...if I'd've known I was going to last this long, I'd've taken better care of myself..." :D
Seriously, though, appreciate every day of good health and fight like hell when they tell you you've got a problem.
I drive California freeways every day; they suck. One aspect of my new outlook goes like this...I used to allow little, insignificant things to get me P.O.'d, now P.O. stands for "Positive Outlook".
