lifting a 3spd column shift

how hard would it be to lift a 3spd column shift 1-3 inches?
i would think just add hockey pucks too the rag joint, and extend the shift arms accordingly, then hockey pucks/ steel tubing, for lifting the body itself.
right??

the main problem is going to be the steering column length if you do a body lift. so consider this. use the saginaw power steering box and the manual 3 spd column then raise the body so the box and the column match up in the stock mounting places. you wouldnt have to mod the shift arms on the column or move it up and down. maybe a slight. but the arms would still clear the firewall if you got the body lift the correct height.

why do i have to get a whole new steering box? why cant i just add extension to the current one? i was gonna un bolt the rag joint on the steering colmunvand add 2 hockey pucks or similar for 3inch of lift

you can do what ever you want. i was just thinking it might be easier and or safer than adding hockey pucks . plus it would give you power steering.

When lifting the tuck body, your main problem won't be the column being too short but it won't align with the steering gear box. It might be a bit too short but the main movement of the column in relation to the steering box will be up and not back. You would have to open the whole in the firewall where the column exits so that the column could swing down 3" further. But one thing for sure, I would definitly not use hockey pucks between the rag-joint and the column or steering box. :nono: :2cents:
