OT: 2007 Harley Davidson for 4000

Post by ford4x4fun »

I will post pictures when I get them but this is what has been offered to me. 2007 Harley Davidson 883 with 700 miles. Garage kept, was bought for the guys son and he just hasn't road it. I will use it to go back and forth work. I was looking for something bigger but for the price I am seriously considering it.

I do not know much about bikes, but it sounds like a good deal. Look forward to pics.

it sounds like a good deal, there is more than one kind of 883 but it is at least half of a new one.

Well, there were customs, huggers, irons, lows and so on, I'm not sure precisely which ones were available in 2007.

Got any pictures? Does it have a peanut tank or a more rounded one and how much chrome?

i would really look into it. i love riding my yamaha and even with its 102ci motor i still get 50 mpg on the highway and about 25ish in town if im rapping up the rpms(i really like the sound of my exhaust) during the summer i used the bike to off set the 8 mpgs of the '68. plus its nice to go on "the loop" here in boise idaho on the weekends.

good luck and hope to see the pix soon

Seems like a good deal. I cant seem to sell my 2004 showroom stock 1200 Custom with 1200 miles for $8000 so if they want $4000 for a newer 883 it sounds decent to me.

A question I have is how big are you? If you are close to a Man Mountain Mike, you just ain't going to fit. Sportsters are a relatively small bike. Also to give you some idea here is what NADA says with Brandon, FL zip code entered http://www.nadaguides.com/Motorcycles/2 ... y-Davidson (Hope it works). Now NADA and Kelley Blue Book have been low balling Harley prices for years but with the economy the way it is I don't know how close they are now. But it sounds like $4,000 is not to bad a price. Especially with only 700 miles on it.

I say save your money and get a big twin.. I dont think you will ever be happy with that little piglet. They are not very comfy bikes. You tire so quick on em. everybody will have to wait on you because you gotta fill up every 120 miles. I dont know how big a boy you are? but they dont fit big boys. I say pass.. no matter how good a deal it seems. As soon as you get it your gonna want something bigger. :2cents:

After 120 miles you will be thanking your higher power for the opportunity to get off of it...

I don't know how far back and forth to work is, but they are good around town bikes...

Also if you want more power you can turn it into a 1200 with a screamin eagle big bore kit for $1,200. Thats the full kit from Harley.

As long as you can put some saddle bags on your bike so you don't have to wear a back pack all the time when you ride and keep up with the proper maintenance you should be fine. Oh yeah maybe a windshield would be a nice addition too. I know its a Harley and some owners frown on having a windshield however in my opinion its nice to have a barrier to protect your face and torso from a hard rain when your coming back from work.

I wish you luck on what ever path you chose to take and be safe.
