Thanks, Guys

Post by 70_F100 »

I've been made a moderator.

Not something I ever expected.

From what I was told, it's because you guys thought I have the knowledge, expertise and the level head that it takes to do the job.

I consider it an honor to be chosen by my peers to have this responibility, and I thank each and every one of you for your input and trust that I have the skills and "level-headedness" to do the job.

I will do my best to live up to the expectations you have of me!!!

Does that mean I have to quit being a Wolfpack fan??

True Story:

I grew up in Durham, worked at two different gas stations (we called them "Service Stations" back then...) while I was in HS and after I graduated.

Both were close to Duke, and I found out that Duke people were real buttholes to skinny young kids that pumped their gas.

That being said, at 18-20 years old, we all wanted to party!!!

We had a choice, drive 15 miles to Chapel Hill, or drive 23 miles to Raleigh. Well, back then, when you had to make a choice, 23 miles was a LOT further than 15 (do the math, and remember that gas was about 35 cents per gallon), we chose Chapel Hill.

Well, I became a Tarheel fan, based on my "party" experience, and it lasted until last fall.

My son, of whom I'm EXTREMELY PROUD, started classes at NCSU, working toward a 4-year degree.

Well, now I have become a true Wolfpack fan!!!!!!!!!!!

The fact of the matter, though, is that I pull for two teams. Those would be NCSU and whomever is playing against Duke!! But, if UNC is playing, and NCSU isn't their opponent, I will STILL pull for UNC!!!!!!!!!

As a NCSU alumnus, I use the term tarheel to refer to use native North Carolina folks. As I may be one of the few on this site that understands the complete rivalry of the big 4 colleges in this state. Congrats on having a son in that great college, but we all know how our loyalties go this time of year in the great March Madness. You wheren't pumping gas at the Gulf on 9th street at Duke wear ya? :P
