Help Fight Cancer: Relay For Life

Post by jbanks »

I'm raising funds for the American Cancer Society through their annual Relay For Life fundraising event. I've posted my personal story of my sister's bout with cancer and hope you are moved to donate or contribute in someway. All donations, small and large are much appreciated. You can visit my personal page below to hear about my sister's bout with cancer and how to donate.

Relay For Life is the signature fundraising event of the American Cancer Society. Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.

A friend of ours just lost his wife to brain cancer after a long battle. He also does the relay for life. We sponser him each time. We also give in other ways to help fight cancer. My wife Vicki is now going through chemo. It is her 2nd go around with the big C. Thanks for doing your part. You and yours are in our prayers.
May your sails stay full, and your knots not slip. Unless a slip knot.

Thank you as well. Hang in there. You, your wife and yours are in my thoughts and prayers. It's such an awful disease that strikes so many innocent people. You don't know how far it reaches till you start talking to people. May our efforts help eliminate this disease and the toll it takes. I wish you all the best.
