Looking for trucks to photograph

Post by Dave Metzner »

My name is Dave Metzner, I make my living doing development work for plastic model kits.
I am searching for bumpside trucks to photograph and measure for reference on a model kit project.
I'd like to find trucks to photograph within driving distance of Mishawaka Indiana or Daytona Beach Florida...
I'd like to find both short bed and standard bed styleside trucks to photograph..F100 F250 or F350 are all useable for our purposes.
If you have a truck that you'd like to let us use, please contact me via PM ..

Thanks,
Dave

When are you wanting to take pictures, and when will you be around the Daytona area? My truck will be available hopefully late spring early summer.

Dave, are you doing this on behalf of one of the big model companies or one of the resin casters? Thanks for getting a start on it finally

Kit will be styrene - may become several kits over time as there are a quite a number of posibilities
Our guy in Florida has been in California on business this week end - Once he gets back to Florida we'll try to work out something regarding trucks that are close to him.

I've read that the actual R & D time on a kit is about a year, progressing from pics to carved model to mold making. Are you at liberty to reveal the model company's name, Dave? As you might have guessed, there's a lot of pent-up demand for a kit like this...

Hey Guys The person from Moebius Models just contacted me and wants to come over( Ocala Fl ) and take some photographs of my truck,so maybe after all this time we may get a model of our trucks. He said it will be sometime around the 12th. of Dec and that he would contact me then as to when he will be here. So keep your fingers crossed we may be getting a model of our trucks from 67-72 what they said. Let you know more when he shows up

You could use the flareside box from AMT's '53, Revells '56 or Monograms '55.
Just thinking about this thread the other day and wonder if the photographer has checked out the low mileage original bumps at NPD....
