Bump Raffle for a good cause in Spring, TX

Post by 69timemachine »

I received this letter in my email from a friend of mine, and naturally wanted to pass it on since it is for a good cause and bump-related. The truck looks very nice! I do not know Karen, but I pray that by posting her story on the forum that it may help her somehow. Thanks guys! :D

"Karen Elliott is the wife of Houston Fire Department, District Chief, David Elliott D-20/C. Karen was involved in a tractor accident approximately 6 months ago which left her paralyzed from the chest down. She has been through an aggressive rehab program and is restricted to a wheelchair. Karen was recently diagnosed with cancer and had extensive surgery to remove a very large tumor. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and has had to be readmitted to TIRR for physical strengthening rehabilitation.
The truck you see in these pictures, a 1968 Ford F100, short bed stepside, 390 ci, 4 spd., was donated by a friend and will be raffled off on Saturday, June 25th, 2011 at the Bareback Bar & Icehouse located at 19940 Kuykendal Spring, TX 281-353-7501. The drawing will be at 3:00 pm. You do not need to be present to win. Contact Jon Scortino 281-667-8538 20/C or Kirk Tolliver 713-882-1351 28/B for tickets. All proceeds will go to Karen Elliott to help defer medical expenses.
Raffle tickets are $20.00 per ticket."

Thanks for passing that on. I'm thinking it may be a good excuse for a road trip. We've been talking about making a run down to Houston anyway. Looks like a pretty clean truck from what I can tell in those tiny pictures.
