my new deck and why i can't find time for my trucks

Post by ezernut9mm »

it has been real busy around la casa de fuller lately. i have a 302/c6 i am itching to put in the 61. it is sitting in the bed of the 67 so i haven't been driving it either and i am getting itchy to drive the 67 so i gotta do something, but my new deck, drain tile/tube and driveway pad have been the main issues of attention lately.

new driveway slab. the old drive stopped where the house started, and this goes the length of the house so i can build a car port in the future.

Image

the new deck. the old was just a 20'x4' concrete slab in front of the house. now we will be able to sit outside and enjoy our evenings.

i broke up the old side walk with a rented jack hammer. that was fun, but i did not know that the real fun was in scooping and hauling the old concrete. lol.

Image

anyways, back to the trucks as soon as i can get all this done. btw, all i have done is the grunt work on all of this. i hired out the real "thinking" type stuff to a pro. my deck would probably look like that car that homer simpson designed if i were doing it. lol

What's all that greenish looking stuff around your house? Nothing like that here in the desert...just sand, rocks and scrub brush...oh yeah...snakes and lizards too. Kinda miss seeing Green...have to go see my Family in Oregon and Washington for that.

All kidding aside, your improvements look GREAT! I think the slab your '61 is sitting on should support it pretty good too! I'd Love to have a porch like that so I could sit outside in the evening, drink a cold one and shoe away the snakes and lizards.

Can't wait to see your new "Bump/Slick Port" (is this where they'll be readied for space flight?) your planning on building in the future.

Thanks for sharing!!

Nothing like a deck/patio area to kick back on after a long day of breaking up the old sidewalk. Had our home 15 years, and I just got around to building a roof over our patio last summer. Your doing great work.

wow i bet that concrete was expensive. too bad you did tear up the sidewalk first and dump it in for fill in the driveway pad.

That looks sweet Chris! Perfect for kicking back with an afternoon beer.
By the way, that's the first pic I've seen of the 61, I know you've always wanted a slick, glad to see you have one now. (I have to admit that I'm a bit jealous though )
Obviously I don't log on as much as I used to, I hope all is well with you.

Cheers,
Dan

thanks everyone. i cannot take credit for the actual construction as a good friend a fellow fordification member "nikon4u" is doing the real work. all i am doing is the heavy hitting and hauling of the concrete and landscaping. that plus the actual vision are mine. his is that beautiful deck. i cannot wait to have it finished so i can enjoy it. everyone is welcome over for burgers and beers.
