I know Snap On makes a quality tool but there is not a dead blow on the planet worth that amount.

I used to work on F-18's in the Marines and we used Snap-on tools. I think we paid the same amount everyone else does for them. The budget for tools is something that each separate unit handles. And when it comes to aircraft; CO's want to buy more gas for the planes, so when it comes to anything else they are always trying to find ways to spend less. Often times we get our tools straight off the truck like everyone else too.
