Paint got done on the '67 Mercury M100 in early June. How's it look?




Here's a picture of the Highliner. Used Infinity speakers. Sounds pretty good.

Thanks so much for putting the photos on here. Your truck's gorgeous, and I think you made an awesome choice by going with those colors!

I've seen that head-liner used by several members. How did its install go? How did you fish the wires up there to connect to the speakers? And what product did you use to color it--or is that its native color?

Thanks for all the nice comments everyone.
I will admit that most of my talent involves signing checks.

I got the Highliner from topsonline.com. They had the best prices I found and they had the colors for about $20 more. Although now I don't see Highliners on their site any more. Seems odd, I just got it in March.

The dimensions for the radio are approximately 8 wide x 7.5 deep x 3 high. Since I put the radio in the dash mine still has the cover on it. There might be a little bit more room in there. My mind is busy trying to find a way to turn that area into a storage cubby without butchering things too much.

It wasn't difficult to wire the speakers. I put the speakers in the Highliner before installation. Then I used the wires that came with it and ran them down the inside the rear posts. From there I was able to add more wire and run it under the carpet up under the dash to the radio.

The installation of the Highliner itself wasn't all that bad. Obviously you'll need someone to help. It comes with screws and even some "U clips" if I remember correctly. It has pre-drilled holes for the screws. I will say that the pre-drilled holes didn't line up exactly with any existing holes. But it was easy enough to drill new holes. It even included small plastic caps to cover the screws (although they were black).

Unfortunately the link you've posted doesn't work for me (page not found). I tried to look it up in their directory, but I don't see any F-Series product listing. Maybe a part number would allow it to be found?

Apparently they're not carrying them any longer. You could try contacting them to see for sure. Maybe they lost money on me...I got mine - with the color - for $240; shipped for $286.

I also saw that JCWhitney has them with colors. But theirs are higher yet.

Can't say 100% for sure. But I think Palco is the manufactuer for the Highliner brand.
If you're in the market, just do a Google search and compare prices (and color availabilty). That's how I found mine. Every once in a while a blind pig (me in this analogy) finds an acorn!

It came from either NPD or LMC. I need to go back and check my receipts; they're all in one sack. But I think it was NPD because their price was better.
The guy who installed it said he had to cut it a little to fit right.

Somewhat off subject, but LMC has some great little LED license plate lights that are also bolts to attach the plate. Until I found those, I wasn't sure what I was going to use for a plate light. No sense going without; not that I'm doing anything wrong, but no reason to give law enforcement a reason to think so. These things would have been a pain 40 years ago when we got new plates every year; the wires have to go through the nut on the back side. But here in Iowa we haven't gotten new plates since '96. I can deal with the wiring every 15 or 20 years.
