Many of them are if you have the right flex plate, bell housing and input shaft. IF you get everything except the flexplate from a 5.0 Mustang I would think that would be a pretty much bolt in deal except for the tranny mount and drive shaft. Fles plate will need to match the bell housing in tooth count and size and balance for your older 302.

the M5odr2 has the small ford bolt pattern it is in F-150's from late 80's to mid 90's with the 4.9L6,5.0 and 5.7V8

Well i guess we will have to maybe change the trans mount maybe the drive shaft and go to the hydro type clutch. I think from 1980 on they went to this type of clutch in the trucks. Any more info will be very helpful.

My truck had the 4 speed and the drive shaft needed to be shortened and the cross member moved back aprox 4" the M5od uses the same slip yoke that a C4 uses,might be the same as 3 speed 
clutch is hydraulic but not too hard to retrofit.Hope this helps.

Tremec TKO or 3550 will bolt up, might need a different clutch disk and driveshaft yoke depending on which tranny you end up with.
