i get tired of some things

Post by fordman »

flunking idiots who keep asking is your truck for sale? do you see a sign? now i have just started telling people its not my truck and i dont know who owns it. go take a flying leap. well i need parts. you wont get them from my truck. go find them at the junkyard. or get online and buy the parts you need. get off the property is all i am thinking. then the guy sends soemone else over there to ask me. i told him the asame thing. go fly a kite. why do you want to know who truck it is. the guy around the corner said he wanted to know because he needed parts. sorry i cant speak about someone elses property. sorry its none of my business. tell him to contact the owner of the land like i told him the first time. the last tiem the idiots were leavign notes on the windshield of my 67. i want to buy the grille. yea. well why the flunk would i do for a grille then. or the neighbor gave them my dads name. and they called my dad for the grille after they left the note. you want the girlle its 1500.00 and you get the truck for free. put up or shut up. do not bother me about my truck. you want parts then you ask me directly for parts. not for my truck. sorry i dont have pictures of my 67. i could care less if my 68 needs painted. its not rusted out. so its not a parts truck.

I feel you...and how would you like it when a tow truck shows up in your yard, some douchebag, who's been ogling your your stuff, hops out and says they'd be happy to tow it away for you. There's too many of them around these days and I'm ready to say hi back with my 12 guage...

I know exactly how you feel - I also get the "you'll never get this running or looking good" from so many people when they see my truck in sandwich bags and the chassis on the floor.

put a sign for "$2500 FIRM" in the window and if someone is willing to pay that - I think I might know what i'd do.
thanks

it's so funny that people pull this stuff. I have had to run people out of my yard my dogs will start barking I'll go out my door and there is some guy walking around my truck while the other guys reaching for the door handle to open it. That so far has bin the worst I had. There was one time somebody walked in my yard I was in the back working on starting my bobcat (tractor) to pull my truck up to the shop and I see him walking over I yell he turns and walks overe asking if I wanted to sell it cuse as he said it will never run again I said no thanks. About 2 months later I was out making a run to the market in my truck and I see him walking down the street I pull up roll down the window and said "it will never run again" somked the tires right next to him and left with a smile on my face.

I get that about the ranchero, 'When you gonna fix it up?' BS. 'That's odd,' I say 'It's been fixed up for 18 years and still runs great. Not my fault the black primer I put on in 1995 when I put the EFI 302 and five speed in has worn off.'

Mr Fordman, don't feel bad.
This happened to a friend of mine.
He had been restoring on his 72 sport custom short bed for a few years, had it looking pretty good.
New interior, dash pad,429 with c6, new mags, tires, straight body, clean truck.
He and his wife met his father-in-law at a resturant, got out, started inside when my friend said "I forgot to lock
my truck".
His father-in-law looked at him and replied " Oh I don't think you have anything to worry about". :D :D

Bump owners don't get no respect-
i went to the junkyard a few years back for some brackets and other assorted crap, came out of the office after paying for whatever it was and had some jerkwad under my hood ripping the distributor out and his buddy attempting to remove the rear bumper AND they'd already drained the gas and oil out of it (!) -apparently the owner of the place had sold somebody most of my truck and sent the yard monkeys out there to strip my truck down !!
- still got my first first car 20+yrs later : 69 f100 sorta kinda pretending its a Mercury M100 w/a 70 f350 sport custom cab (factory buckets) 67 grille with 69 ranger cooneyes 68 merc box and hood, some supercool fiberglass fenders i scored way back when, 76 f150 disc brake frontend..currently running a 90 5.0HO 4bbl/c4 auto & 3.50 posi...originally a 360/c6 f100 Ranger with dealer added towpack (incl. kelsey hays trailer brake),boxside toolbox, behind the seat stowage & belly tank...only original parts left on 'er are the frame, rear end, rear springs, and rear bumper...

My truck sat in front of my Grandpa's house for years while I saved up money to fix it up. My aunt lives next door and kept pestering me and my mom to get me to sell it. It's a good thing my Grandpa had passed away, I told my mom she would have sold him if she could have gotten a good price for him. People would ask if it was for sale and she would say no and then give out my phone number. It got really old.

I worried about it being vandalized or stripped but luckily nothing happened, thank God. I got so neurotic about it that I couldn't even drive by the house to check on it for fear someone had thrown a rock through the windshield or something.

(I ended up replacing the windshield anyway. ;) )
