OT: Removal Advice?

Post by ford4x4fun »

OK,

So I knocked the passenger side mirror out of my truck the F250 (swerving to miss someone on a cell phone not paying attention). Anyhow the truck had the chromed plastic mirror covers. I just craigslisted a replacement mirror and put it on my truck. Now I have one mirror with the chrome cover one without. From what I have read they are double sided taped on the mirror. Does anyone know how to remove this cover without tearing it up. It is almost like the used liquid nail on the one on my truck.

Get another chrome cover? I think no matter what you do, the old chrome cover is going to leave behind some nasty glue residue.

so your old 67-72 sport mirror got the mirror glass broken out? and the rest (back cover and mounting arm) is fine? if so take it to a glass shop and have them replace the mirror glass in it.
