installation of rear tailgate

Hi, i am swapping in a new tailgate on my 1972 f260. I could not figure out how to get the round base bracket into the slots on the tailgate? Any suggestions is appreciated.

tilt the tailgate then put the last side in the tailgate and lower it down.

Of course, you have to unbolt the round thing first
