the 9 month mystery part

9 months, 4 knuckles and huge/epic/massive fact finding effort later, I still have not identified or located the correct knuckle yet.
I really need some help...
The knuckle has a distinctive shaped arm, if you have seen it perhaps you may remember because of its shape. Most arms are even and have some symmetry...
The passenger side knuckle has a trapezoid shaped kingpin cap.

I've been looking to repair or replace the closed knuckle because replacing the whole front end is a bit of a challenge...

What did this come out of? 2nd Gen Bronco w/Dana 44? 1 Gen with Dana 30? Ranger with a Dana 35? that someone swapped a Dana 44 into? Something completely different?

Some of those front ends can get pretty bastardized over the years... because everyone used Dana (chasing after Ford) and sometimes the other guys specs were a little better, so why not use their parts if they fit...

My say would be check the u-joint sizes... add to that the knowledge of what truck it came out of... and what diff it actually has... and then you will have a better idea of what happened to this trucks front in in the 30+ years before you bought it...

Example to wrap your head around... Ranger with a swapped in Dana 44 from a Bronco that had already been supplemented with bigger shafts and joints from an F150 on the long side and a W100 on the other...

So figure out what you do know about the whole front end under that truck... then take that info and find an old 4x4 pirate...

it looks like jeep or chevy because of 6 bolt spindle.lot of early stuff is interchangable with each other by tring different bearings and such
