Got a JobSmart 20 gal blasting pot yesterday. I was going to get Black Diamond from Tractor supply, but I think I will use no bigger than 80 grit to avoid as much clogging as I can. I may get the Garnet, but it is $$$. I figure I can reuse it. Any input anyone.
Gotta get Mom's cookin stove chimmney hood redone. Seemed like a good reason to buy a blaster, as someone on here mentioned

I've tried the 20-40 grit Black Diamond original and the 30-60 grit Black Diamond Fine Fury blend. The original was great at removing really gunked on crud and heavy rust scale but left a pretty rough surface. The Fine Fury took a little more effort and time but left a much smoother surface. I'm currently using the Fine Fury on my suspension components and after topcoating it leaves a good smooth finish whereas the original left a finish you could tell had been blasted. I wouldn't use either on exterior body panels without sanding them down smooth before painting. I didn't know they had an 80 grit. I'm just using a cheap blaster and have had no issues with clogging with either grit. It's a 20 year old Sears model pot with a cheap Northern Tool gun. I was going to buy one of these http://www.harborfreight.com/portable-a ... 37025.html and it'll probably work as good as the one I've got. Good luck!

I'm gonna call BS on that one. Rooster Cogburn NEVER screamed in pain. LeBeouf maybe but not Rooster.

If it would have been the original, no way. Not the Duke, but alas it was a imposture. (Although it is a great movie. Both times.)

Ok, you win on that one. I saw the new one and it was ok but I waited the whole movie to see that last scene where Rooster puts the reins in his teeth and yells.. "Fill your hands you Son of a B----!" only to be disappointed. Bridges didn't pull it off like the Duke did. I thought he did bring a good gritty edge to Rooster while John Wayne's was a softer side. Still a good movie though. I thought the very end scene was good too. Nice close. Let me know how your blast job turns out and what you wound up using. Thanks!
