69 FLATBED Cummins Conversion
Hey everyone, I haven't been on the site in a while, I slung a rod through the block on my 360 so it's been out of commision for a while. I recently went to Moultrie to the swap meet looking for another project with the intent that, if I didn't find anything I was gonna get back to working on my 69, well i didnt. I came home and started my Craigslist search and found a 98 Dodge with a 12 valve and a NV4500 for $2000 which I thought was a steal. I even drove it home from about an hour away. It had a light tap in it, so with 430,000 on the odometer ive decided to tear it down and rering and bearing it and have the head worked. Even with that many miles there are still crosshatch marks in the cylinder, I plan on using the NV4500 and also going to use the hydroboost off the dodge. I will post pics as i go to keep you updated, and everyone's is appreciated especially the ones who have done this swap. I'm having trouble getting my pics uploaded but i'm still trying.

While your at it have the wrist pin bushings redone to. You will have to have someone with a fixture do them but worth it. I think i payed like 150.00 for it all togeather.

Oil pan is going to be a bear with a 2wd. See my build for some of my fun. Mine is a '93 VE pump'd 5.9 with '94 donut mounts with a 47rh. So far it's went well, just taking forever.

Re: 69 FLATBED
Okay guys, If you havent seen my other project file on the crew cab I bought here's the scoop! I took the FE out of the crew cab Hiboy and put it in my flatbed, So the Cummins is going to go in it after bodywork. I got it back on the road today and took it on the maiden voyage... It runs like never before! I have been driving this truck since I was about 13 around the farm and It has never ran so good! My uncle bought this truck new so it's been in my family since day one. Here are a couple of pics after the motor is back in.
