I used to go and watch in when I lived in Phoenix and I have watched it a few times on TV in the past years.
I came to the conclusion that I don't really like being reminded just how poor I am.
Cars and trucks are pretty darn cool though.

I don't like seeing all my old cars drive by picking up 10 to 100 times what I sold them for back in the day... painful.

I justsaw that custom vette pick up $125 k.... pretty much less than a proper resto... and a lot less than that famous '47 F-truck.

And the pendulum swings...

Yeah i hear ya for sure. I just sit there and think i could build 50 trucks for what they spend on one car. I just enjoy it since it is like a giant car show that you get to see all angles from the house.

When I was watching it not only was I dreaming of how nice it would be to own some of those cars I thought to myself how nice it would be just to own the garage or showroom that they store them in. My vehicles are no where near as nice of as expensive but I bet I appreciate and enjoy them more just knowing how hard I had to work just to buy parts etc for them. Lots of good memories over the years with the different old clunkers I have owned.

Those prices are out of my league. I am content with my house and the truck parked in the drive. I could put more words to that and I'd have me a country song.

I watch it and really enjoy it. My dad and I just like to see who can guess closest to the final price (I'm doing the fantasy bid this year.) Talking about prices- man, I can barely afford the electricity it takes to keep the TV powered on just so I can watch the darned auction, let alone any of the cars.

It's kind of like watching a car show, for me, I try not to dwell on the wealth gap. ;)

I love watching it, but those auctions have ruined the classic car market for average people trying to buy anything. I took 8 thousand dollars to Moultrie Swap Meet to buy a project vehicle, I couldnt have bought anything for that price! It still doesnt cost anything to look though... I guess us poor folks can keep our wish list full!

Heck even our beloved bumpsides our going up in price they just aren't building them anymore for sure. Again by those pictures just a nice car show effectively.
