OT, On this day back in 1917 what Henry Ford was doing?

Post by basketcase0302 »

He was supplying England with Fordson tractors as the country's supply routes had been cut off during the war:

Jeff, if you look closely, that's me, second from left, top row. I think I still have that same suit...I never throw any thing away.

Thanks for the photo, brought back great memories! Am I kidding? You decide!

England made the most of the original Fordson tractor, Producing it nearly unchanged through 1944, and then using the same engine in a later model (e27 type) for another decade or so. The Fordson may have been a marginal success in the U.S. where farms became mega farms, but around the globe where small farms stayed small, the Fordson was a hit.

Wonder if there are many of these around still in the old tractor shows maybe?

You bet...there is a tractor/steam engine show twice a year in Banks Oregon. Just about anything you can think of shows up. There are so many steam engines running that the outside temperature of the area increases like 10 degrees.

Of course ex #3 (citified girly girl she was) wouldn't have nothing to do with anything like that!
She's reading this, (keeps tabs on me here) throwing crap at her monitor! :shh:

Not joking in the least. When your married to a lady for 19 years they know everything, (did I say everything loud enough) LOL...about you! I don't worry bout' her at all snooping here, I simply never put details about my personal life here anymore. Only let a lady "throw you out to the wolves" once guys, (it's the trust thing that comes with marriage that blindsided me). It will never happen to me again.
