i think I need assistance
I think I have most of the parts to make a horn work on my truck but don't know what else I'm missing. I would love any help with this. I think i need two brushes, does dennis carpenter sell both that I need? What does the shiny horn washer do in the last picture?

It has been quite a while since I messed with this, but if I recall correctly there is a contact that passes through the hole (in the steering wheel) that can be seen about O'Clock in your second picture and the steering shaft is the other contact. I do however recall that the earlier ones like yours with the 3 spoke wheel are not the same as the later ones with the 2 spoke wheel like mine. The problem is I just don't remember the specifics...

:hj:but relevant...Do the new rag joints come with the grounding harness or where can you get a replacement
Because if I understand correctly....that plays a factor in your horn working
So if you have all the parts in place on the steering wheel and your horn still doesn't work....
is this why so many members(me included)have that little black button on the side of there steering column

I've had enough and I'm not alone

Very...good point Jerry! And yes my new rag joint I installed last month came with it. Shortly thereafter I threw it in the trash LOL! Wish I would've taken a picture of it before I trashed it, (not needed as my tilt has the dedicated ground wire in the column).Do the new rag joints come with the grounding harness or where can you get a replacement
It is a metal, (and PIA looking) bracket that ties both halves together as you mate the sector shaft to the column shaft. Would be so...much easier to run you own flat braided strap with two eyelet type terminal ends on it from one side to the other!
