Is it just me, or... ?

Post by PhantomoftheBumpside »

Is it just me? Or does anyone else wish that Edelbrock would hurry up and produce a triple deuce intake for the FE and 385s to go with those new "94's" they are putting out?

Hey, I'd be happy if I could find a Performer intake on the cheap to go with the Performer carb! I'm told I can save about 2500 pounds by replacing the 4bbl iron Ford intake! Actually, I'll be taking my first road trip with my bump this weekend, so we'll see how it does if I keep my foot out of it!

I had a Honda Magna a few years ago. Four cylinder engine, with each cylinder having its own carb. Man, oh man, the troubles I had in getting the carbs balanced! I don't think I'd want to do that on a truck, too!

OOO... 8 webers on a 427!

Nah... too much tuning is right...

I'm still thinking that 3 '94's' with progressive linkage would be sweet on an FE..

I don't know, I guess it might be sort of cool...

I'm guessing they wouldn't sell a great many though...

C'mon... it's a 3 bolt nostalgia carb for flatheads... they're making 3-duece manifolds for flat heads and for the chebbies that the knotheads use instead of flat heads for their fiberglass Fords...

how many are they really selling anyway?

That is my point. When is the last time you saw an FE (or 460) in a "fiberglass Ford"...? It is usually an orange motor, a flathead or perhaps the occasional SBF.

On top of that the carbs are 350.00 each and the manifold is at least 350.00 so what is that 1400.00+ for the set up ? It will probably make less power than a good single 4bbl too. No thanks I'll take a blue thunder dual quad for that kind of money.
