chance to pick up parts or restore truck

Post by BluFord69 »

I just found a fair condition 69 f100 step side no interior and it has a later model I6 and C6 installed but not wired or running the body is in decent shap little rust holes in the normal spots -- what is the opion on what a fair price would be for this vehicular afternoon/weekend waster I was thinking 750-800 would be a fair price to offer. opinions please. ( and I know the statement it is worth what u will pay for it will come up)

Thanks gentlemen

Personally,I wouldn't give over $300.
My guess is based on all the "needs" it has. And considering you can't even start it, much less drive it.
So that's my opinion. And about what you would get for one around here in that condition. :dk:

Doesn't run, it is a parts truck. The engine and tranny are rebuilding cores and the body is for parts or a complete restoration. If it were a complete truck with the original engine and tranny I would say $400, that is what I paid for mine and it ran. I agree with the $300 figure. And if you can see rust, there is more of it lurking in hiden locations. Plus you have no idea what else is wrong with it. I have learned to never trust a seller, so assume everything is bad and will require work and $$$.

A truck will bring nearly $500 for scrap just rolling through the scales with the price of metal now. If it turns out not to be a restore worthy truck just use the good parts and be done with the rest. These things are not getting easier to find so you need to look at it that way also.

I love to find a parts truck with a flareside bed. I have been looking for one of those beds.
