Original Ford Shop Manuals can be found on ebay just about anytime. If you are patient you can find a good set relatively cheap.

I've found the factory sevice manuals are the best. I get one for every vehicle.

Some libraries in the larger cities may have the factory service manuals or others. If it's old enough where the copyright laws are no longer in effect, they should allow unlimited copying.
I even found a factory service manual at the library for my first truck, a 1950 GMC.
