"bump" comes from "bumpside". if you look at the side of a 1967-1972 ford truck you will see a bump running the length of the truck. the 1973-1979 ford are called "dentsides" because of the indention running down the side of the truck.

Our trucks are called "bumps" because it's what the hood latch does to our head ever time we work on the truck!

"Slick" is a nickname for a 1961-1966 Ford truck.
"Bump" or "Bumpside" is a nickname for 1967-72 Ford trucks.
"Dent" or "Dentside" is a nickname for 1973-79 Ford trucks (including 78-79 Bronco).

These names are used very commonly and casually in the Fordification communities. They came about because of the styling cues used in the body lines of those eras.

Made me lose my religion several times in one day doing an intake swap. I then wrapped it with a rag and duct tape to cushion it a little.
