Sad to open up boxes

Post by 69Ford »

I've have been Ordering NOS parts this winter and replacing parts. Alot of the old parts are in good shape and I put them in the NOS boxes. Now I'm looking at all those boxes and thinking I should have just kept the parts as spares
becoming a bump part hoarder. Its hard to open an original box with a 40 year old part.

Speaking from expierence... :hw:
Make sure you label the outside of the box as "used" or 10 years from now you'll think you have a new part!

I always get a little quivery feeling when I get a new NOS part in it's original box. It's like going back in time for a moment.

Randy: That quivery feeling probably came from knowing how much you had to pay for them.

I've known folks who buy NOS parts to use them and then chunk the boxes in the trash. I always ask if I can save the boxes because I think minty NOS Fomoco boxes are really neat. After a while, you have a whole shelf of NOS parts boxes(mostly empty) which makes for a cool display. :D
