i'm currently in ponca city ok. while i travel with the carnival. nrxt to stillwater then to enid ok. thenback to the land of oz. dodge city ks. not much better. but its work for now. ponca city has free wifi throughout the city so i can get on until we leave town. its cold living out here on the road this time of year. but i have a small room and a heater that helps keep it warm enough at night. i also have a heating blanket that is a fitted sheet. so you sleep on top of it. the first time i used it last year i turned it all the way up plus the heater on the floor. and i woke up sweating. that was in the fall when the weather was better.
i got pretty mad at one of the half baked or married into the company foremans today. he just doesnt care about much really. he never answers you when you speak to him. not that what i told him was a big deal but i was still mad all night while working. and i am probably still mad now. but not as mad as i was i guess. and someone drove our truck with our ride on it into the midway and got it stuck in the mud. so we had a several hour wait until we could get to work on it. still alot to do tomorrow. several rides still arent setup. i was able to do other work to help setup the show. but i wasnt in the reved up mood by the time our truck got on location to setup. this used to be fun. but when you have to ruysh to open the next night. it gets worrysome that you wont get to clean p or get a slight rest before having to open. so far no losers are workng here this year and its a good crew. with soem trainingt he news guys will fall into the groove and the rush setups wont be so bad as long as trucks dont get stuck.
i didnt have time to even finish the work on my 67 so i could sell it. i am one bumper bolt away from changing the bumper. and put the column back in it.
well time to get to bed. have to work mid morning to finish setting up.

Re: location
My mama traveled with a carnival for several years. A good friend and her husband had one and she hit the road with them up north. She was in her 50's-60's at the time. She ran some of the smaller kiddie games like ring toss and duck pond and such while others took break. Said she had a good time but wore her out on a regular basis. Long hours on your feet. Good luck!

Talked myself out of being mad so.e how. I forget why. Anyway these kids and other derlicts. Don't like to work till its done then take time off. They want to spread it out and work up til the last minute. well not much to do tomorrow here in Stillwater. Open tomorrow night til Sunday. Then move. It again. Were still not a perfect team. But really not all that bad. Well see after next week how it goes. Got to get new guys d
rivers licenses. And then we don't have to double back for the rest of the trucks. Which means more bodies to setup the rides. Two more weeks in okie land. Then back to oz. i never cared much for Stillwater. Would rather be at home online with the site than listening to the down crowd here. But I'm in better shape again. Well sort of. getting too old for this maybe.
