Well, I am friends with a guy who owns a metal recycling metal place and he always gives me the heads up when any old Fords are brought in. Fortunately, he is not like some scrappers who knowingly destroy valuable old trucks. He lets me know when there's something neat coming in his warehouse and usually he doesn't send it to the crusher, but finds a new home for it or parts it out first. Anyway, he had 3 Fords come in recently for scrap. Two bumpsides and a late 70s Bronco. The nicest one is a 1967 F600 that is immaculate. It was bought new in early '68 and was owned and kept by the local Volunteer Fire Dept as a water truck until a couple months ago when the county deemed it too old(although it was more reliable and ran better than the newer trucks). This F600's interior is almost like new and the body is real straight. It's only been repainted once and everything looks good. The second bumpside is a 1971 F-100 Ranger swb. It is pretty rough, but would make a good parts truck or beater for the right person. There's a bunch of loose parts sitting inside it. All it needs to run is a carb. Tires are decent with late model F150 wheels. The third Ford is a '78 Bronco Ranger. My friend(the owner) is keeping this one for himself and has just started tearing into it. Pretty neat trucks. Hope something good happens to the F600, because that is just too nice of a vintage truck to go to waste! If anyone sees anything in my pictures of these trucks that they might want or ought to be saved, let me know.

I WANT TH F600 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER! and YES I was yelling!
2015 Camaro-2001 GMC Safari-1984 F250 6.9/T19 2wd-1974 Dodge D100 short fleetside~ 72 wife ~ late model kids, a Chocolate Lab named Coco and a white rabbit named Marshmallow...now I need a ferret named Graham and I will have S'mroes!!!..
I'll have to ask what he'd let the F600 go for. He was talking about making a "Sanford & Son" truck out of it for his scrap metal business. I think he needs a Ford from another decade for that(and one in worse shape). That F600 has to be the cleanest one of its type I've ever seen. He also mentioned that it could be real useful to anyone if they made it into a flat bed. I would hope someone would buy the whole truck. But if it gets parted out, I'll let you all know so you can make offers on parts from it.
The '71 F-100 is pretty rough but there are some parts inside it that could be useful. I'm not exactly sure it's even a '71 model. The grill is missing and the original VIN tag too. So, I am left with few clues to what year it exactly is. I know from the bed, it has to be post-69. One thing that might narrow it down is the rubber grommets for the shoulder seat belts are further back, closer to the rear windshield. This is different from where they're located in my '72 F-100. Could this truck be a '70 model? Any ideas?
I don't know about you, but to me this doesn't look like scrap.
Anyway, I know it's not a F-100 or F-250 like what we mostly talk about around here, but still very sharp old Ford truck. Very much worth saving and reusing for personal use or business. It runs and drives very well for its age. Very low mileage. Original 330 ci V8 engine. Immaculate interior. Good paint job. Decent set of tires. Was outfitted with a water tank that has since been removed. Can tow or haul just about anything. Located at Watkinsville Metal Recycling in Watkinsville, Ga.

I don't see any scrap there either!!! If they decide to part out (lord I hope they don't!!!) I sure could use the front fenders for one of my projects.?.? If you don't mind let me know if they do.?.?

That is way too nice to scrap! Hopefully somebody saves it.

I can assure you no one is going to scrap that F600. Half of the volunteer fire departments in this state had a F600 water truck. Many of them are being used on farms now & parades.
In case anyone is seriously interested in this F600, I think I now know what my friend might let it go for. He doesn't really want to sell it, BUT he needs $ to fund his honeymoon that is coming up in a few months after his wedding.
$2,500 cash for the F600
It has 15,XXX original miles on it. Drive it home. Super clean, original truck.

Ok Al what would you give for the fenders? I would take the cab in a heartbeat. That would leave me with absolutely no bodywork to do at all as far as the cab is concerned. I wouldn't mind the doors. Hate filling holes but those are some really nice doors.
That cab won't work on your F100.?.? The doors are the same. I think I've got 2 school bus clips located. Going to inspect next weekend.?.? wish me luck.... That is one nice truck!!! I'd love to buy it and make a big cruiser out of it!!!
I don't need it for myself, but you may want to grab that vanity panel from underneath the '71's dash. It's the woodgrain panel along the lower right side of the dash. Those don't along too often, and someone may need it.
