New Ford Decode Help???

Post by Checkmate »

Hello all,

Im a new user, just purchased my first Ford, have always been a Chevy fan up till now, but I was born in 77 and I saw this truck for sale, its a 77, and really liked the looks of it.
So Im getting ready to start doing some fixing and Im one of those guys that keeps records of what all I change and when and etc, but I also like to keep a detailed sheet of information on
the vehicles I have. So Im looking for some help decoding the vin and door tags to find out what engine, axles, gear ratios, etc if anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it.
I wont even make any Chevy over Ford jokes lol. Just kidding... I like vehicles for their look not for their maker, but seriously would really be greatful if anyone can decode this info for me.

Thanks,
Adam

First I can not read the metal tag. You would need to post the numbers for anyone to be able to help. Second there is a sister site to this 1 for '73-'79 (dent) trucks. It is www.fordification.net Not trying to run you off but you might find more help there since they are all owners of trucks the same era as yours (6th generation). After owning 1 old Ford truck you will always own 1.

Btw, that was just because the info you want is over there. Come back and visit any time! It's still a Ford truck.
