sheared off motor mount bolts
Noticed a problem with the pass side motor mount on the 68/300 6cyl.I only have 1 bolt holding the mount bracket in place, their should be the three.Poking around I noticed the two missing bolts have been broken off in the block. What do I do now?/??? Most of the torque is on this side also???

Unbolt the motor from the mounts, place a wide block of wood under the oil pan and jack the engine up as high as you can.Remove the motor mount and see if you can remove the bolts from the block. You may be able to drill into them and remove them with an EZ-out, or if there is any piece of the bolt sticking out maybe you could get it with a Visegrip.
Good luck!

re: sheared off motor mount bolts
thanks,I did manage to get one out with an easy out after removing the motor mount, but the top one of the three looks like it has been that way for a long time. So,i had no luck on that one.I feel much better having 2 of the bolts in anyways.I guess I may have to drill out the top one,and try to re-thread it,or would it be safe just to leave it the way it is?????

re: sheared off motor mount bolts
I have left hand drill bits for broken off bolts. Often times the drill will back the bolt out when it bites.
I had to fix the same problem on a 250 chev in an old jeep wagon once. It was a mucked up mess with other unsucessful attempts. I ended up with studs in there with red locktite. That will hold more than a threaded in bolt.

Im finding quite a few repairs to make.The truck (68) originally had a 360,and was replaced by a 1979 300 6.Mixed up wiring,alternater was'nt grounded,motor mount bolts,mounts lose on dr side of frame,etc etc,etc.

No doubt bolts that were lose or too long is what caused your broken off bolts.
