Look what followed me home!

Post by Calfdemon »

Ok, well I had been working on this deal for a while and I talked about it in another thread. But yesterday it became a reality and I pulled this beauty into my driveway. Of course, it had to be 110 degrees yesterday for the 70 mile drive home without air, but I had a smile on my face the entire way.

Anyway, here she is! A 1967 Ford Fairlane GT with a 390 and 4 speed. It is a true S code car!

She is currently parked next to the 1967 Pontiac Firebird 400 convertible, but that is only temporary as I need to sell the Firebird to pay off the Fairlane and finish the restoration on my truck. My wife loves the bird and is not happy about the Fairlane, but hopefully it will grow on her. The Firebird is a pretty pony car, but this Fairlane is pure muscle!

If it wasn't 110 outside again, I would be out messing with it, but that will have to wait until this evening when it cools down some. Already have a 2 page list of things to buy and replace, but the money to pay for all of this stuff is another story... haha! Gotta sell that Firebird. :(

Nice, Does sound like a helluva muscle car. I notice there was no picture of your smile, probably because it wouldn't fit on the computer screen no matter how big the screen is. :D Enjoy.

Sweet car! The bird is probably heartbroken. Better not park 'em too close together or that Fairlane might take advantage of the purty little thang.

I've got a '67 GT in my driveway as well. It belongs to a friend and I am doing some work on it for him. Somebody replaced the 390 with a 351 Windsor. I sold him the fresh 390 out of my bump and I am going to put it in for him.

Looks like you figured out a way to keep both. Cool!

My buddy had a GTA convertible that we raised hell in in high school. Very nice cars.

If I want to buy a new house in the next 2 years as planned, I cannot keep both. And if I want to stay married, I need to buy a new house in the next 2 years... :hmm: Hmmmm..... LOL!

No, I borrowed the money from my "new home down payment" fund for the Fairlane and I need to sell the Firebird to pay it back. The leftover money from the sale will go into the completion of my truck, which is supposedly getting color finally this week!

Anyway, I cannot keep both unfortunately so the coolness factor of my driveway is only temporary until a final sale of the bird is agreed upon. The driveway coolness factor will come back up some when the crew cab comes home from the paint shop though!

Ahhh, I understand.....

I am building a new house right now and it is seriously screwing with my toy selection. I am close to finishing and am debating on my first purchase. I'm thinking a Z3 convertible would be a great car to drive while I build my 67.

My Uncle had one of those 67 GTs I had a built 68 Formula 400. His was very fast but I hate to say the dual feed 1150 feeding the 400 was super sonic or it seemed so  The Bird looks good. Is it stock?
