Good Mustang Forum

Post by Damon23 »

Been doing a lot of thinking lately and the more I think about it the more I want to go fast. Not just down a track but on a road course as well. Was thinking about a old foxbody mustang. I want to do some reading on them to learn about them. My favorite foxbody is the 85-86 GT and the 87-93 LX 5.0. I'd have to have a emissions done so it would have to be 88 back or would have to be a emissions ready 89-93. Unfortunately I would have to sell the truck. I really wanted a 4x4 longbed anyway but once the VW Camperbus is done I could always get one then. I'm just starting to research this to see if I want to go down that road but the more I look at them the more I like the idea. Any help with sites would be great. Thanks.

Can't go wrong with a fox body! My stepson had an '85 GT hatchback and it would really haul A$$. Felt like he needed to sell it and buy something more sensible because of his kids so he sold it for $3500 and went car shopping. Came back with an '89 LX with a ground effects kit and Cobra wheels  Said he just couldn't help himself. It was a better car than the '85 though and also would burn the tires and the road. Handled a lot better than the '85. Both were 5 speeds. Eventually sold it and bought a F150 crew cab. Still pines over those cars, though. While he had 'em, we hit these sites:

Get you a mustang.
I have liked mustangs since they came out in 1964.
I have had several over the years.
Presently have a 93 gt , many mods with factory red paint & a 07 black gt. factory paint.

I like all mustangs, some better than others.
They look good, tough, fun to drive, and probably have more after market parts available
than any other car on the road.

Thanks for all the sites. Wow at some of the prices. I never thought those notch back cars were so popular as street cars. I've got to weigh my options. I like my truck but a highboy is what I really wanted but this one I bought just jumped out at me. A mustang would be a ton more fun though.
