I've seen this mentioned in a couple of places, but the LMC catalog came a couple days ago and really pushed it over the edge.
They say 'in 1968 the black painted grille was switched to a white painted grille'
I cant find ANY pictures of a 1967 with a black grille, or any bumpside with a black grille anywhere! I've searched everywhere i can think of.
Am i hallucinating this, misunderstanding what that means, or were there black painted grilles on some bumps? Does anyone have a picture?
I'm seriously considering spray bombing mine before i strip it just to see what it looks like, if i like it i'll powdercoat it black and if i hate it, i'll do white.

Re: the elusive 'black grille'
I find nothing of an original black grille although the vertical bars on a '68 were painted black at one time. With that said, here's one memeber who blacked theirs out. http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... p?p=651117

Re: the elusive 'black grille'
My 68 CS has the vertical black, but the rest of the grill is chrome. This is a pic from when I purchased it, so nope not for sale.

Re: the elusive 'black grille'
yeah that must be what they are talking about, the 'blacked out' vertical bars.
if anyone is curious what i'm referring to, here is the catalog page: (i hope this works.. )
"the grille was the same for 1968 except the black paint was changed to ivory for the standard grille which changed again midyear to chrome"

sarge, thanks for finding that pic! exactly what i was looking for, the 'what have you done to your bump today is way too long for me to catch up on, i'd get fired for sure!
