I am looking at a 1971 F250 Highboy. but.... the VIN plate on the door says F25 in the first 3 digits which is a 2WD.

something's gotta give, right?

either the truck was converted, or stolen/switched plates, or?
any ideas?
thanks

If you want your VIN tag to be correct, you can order a new one from Marti Auto Reports, just go to his website and you can order from there. You supply the information, so you can change anything on it to match your truck as it is now. Below is a copy of what I ordered for my truck when I did my rebuild, VIN # is the same but I changed everything else to match it as it is now. I covered up part of my vin # for safety.Camper Special wrote:Follow up:
Turns out the body was F25 and the frame was F26. Someone did a frame swap. Too bad it was a super clean truck.
Thanks all for your input.
