Finishing Touches
I'm at the point of putting my 68 back together after a frame off resto and have a few questions. I will be needing all of the cab seals for windows, doors, windshield, back glass, etc. Who do ya'll have the best luck with? LMC, NPD, Dennis Carpenter, etc? Also considering installing one of Dakota digital dash clusters. Has anyone used one? Difficult to install? Parts availabilty? Customer service? Being this will probably be one of my last builds I really want to do things right. I should mention the truck is a 68 F100 two wheel drive shortbed. I have a fuel injected 347 stroker engine with a 3000 stall C-6 that is setting real nice in an 03 Crown Vic front subframe. I also have an 8.8 Explorer rear end installed also with a 3.73 ratio. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks
68 Ford F-100, two wheel drive short bed. 46k original miles, was a 240 six cylinder 3 on the tree. Changed to a 347 stroker with a C6, 03 Crown Vic front end, lunar green. Torn completely apart for a frame off fun daily driver project.

Re: Finishing Touches
I ordered all of my seals from DC and was very happy with the quality and how easy they were to installed. I haven't used one of there clusters but they are made less than an hour away from where i live. I had a high school teacher who put one in his Chevelle and they looked really sweet. I have never heard of him having any trouble with them. I went with speed hut gauges in my short bed, because i liked the look of the round gauges better than the numbers. Good luck with your decisions.

Sounds like a great build! I haven't personally bought the gauge panel from DC but I feel good about the quality of everything else I've bought from them. While you're at it, might want to consider these white face gauge overlays. I think they're really cool looking. http://fordification.com/forum/viewtopi ... &sk=t&sd=a

Re: Finishing Touches
Update for you. I went to the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona last weekend. The first place I stopped was Flashback F100. I bought a really nice and expensive hood and they had all of the rubber parts that I needed to complete the cab. Overall I'm very happy as that is all of the parts that I need to finish the truck. One thing has got me to thinking is my transmission selection. I've been looking into the non electronic AOD transmissions. Doe's anyone have any experience with these? I've got 3.73 gears in the rear and think it would be great to have an overdrive trans. Your thought's or input would be appreciated. Gary
