Orginal factory specs

Post by Fordguy85 »

Does anyone know where I can find Orginal factory specs for a 72 F250 , in other words what was offered, rear end wise , engine wise different options available , what options were offered in what packages , basically all the info that you would find on a window sticker if you went to the dealership and looked at a brand new vehicle ?

The VIN is also on the frame pass. side in front of front wheel and behind.

If you are looking for the actual options that your truck came with, then you probably want to order the Marti report for your truck. The $40 report has all the information you could want about your truck. Just supply them with your VIN and they will pull all the original Ford records for your truck. Here is the link: http://www.martiauto.com/reports2.cfm

i had no idea that existed !! thanks, just have no clue which vin to give em , I have 3 of em ha ha , one on the chassis, and completely different one on the door (because the driver door was replaced ) and then there is the one on the title which i have no clue where it came from , the PO couldn't even answer that , said it was his dads truck, and his dad had passed away and the vin on the title was what he had it registered under , really starting to regret even buying this thing !!

Well, that is a bit tough them. If the door was replaced, then you can pretty much eliminate the door vin if they didnt swap plates. That leaves you with either the frame or the registered vin. Unfortunately you pretty much need to keep using the registered vin since that is what you have a title to. I know the Marti website also reproduces door tags so you might want to look into getting a door tag for your registered vin and replace the one on your door.

yeah i was seriously considering that, it has everything f250 on it all except for the chassis so I figured Id just use the one on the title get the vin plate and throw it on the door theres that problem solved

Sounds like you have a Frankenstein. If the chassis is not a F25 VIN than am I to assume it F10? Or F35 or? How many lug nuts on each wheel? The truck could have been a F100 that somebody put a 250 body on and didn't change out the hood badges.

yeah its a frakenstein for sure !!

front and rear wheels are 8 lug , I know the rear end is a 250 rear end, I think the front suspension is still f100 suspension
the chassis is f100, the body has the 250 badges on it

its got a 360 with a t18, I mean realistically i don't care , it just makes it harder while I'm trying to restore it

I have read about some one off trucks that were 100s with 250 suspension. Built that way from Ford. That is all I remember but it seems there is one here at Fordification. Perhaps another member can point you towards that truck.
