Windshield Wiper Arms
I'm pretty sure it was obvious to some, but O'Reilly and other auto parts stores actually carry the windshield wiper arms by Trico. I had an ancient (at least 25 years old) wiper arm fail on me, the pot metal broke and spring had sprung to some unknown destination...and of course the driver's side. Finally figured out I could use a small flat screwdriver and wedge the clip far enough away from the cog to wiggle and pry the old wiper from the cog. In advance I shopped online and found several sources, for what I now suppose is the oem fomoco versions, as they were quite pricey (30-50 a pop), and I was about to order. This morning, it began to rain in California, boy don't they warn'ya, so I set about to move the good wiper to the driver's side. A brief clearing, I decided to get a new refill or blade for it at O'Reilly, and was shocked to find Trico replacement arms in back stock area (ask help) for a mere $11 a piece, so I bought a pair, and two new blades to complete a wiper overhaul for about $50 total. It was a good day.

Here's a pretty cool mod to update the wiper arms on Bumps and Dents using late model F-series arms: http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/12443 ... st14050329

Neat trick! Thanks! I will say that the new Trico arms have a MUCH improved, heavy spring, and the only spot where contact is suspect is the far curve on the passenger side, and I doubt they'd care.HIO Silver wrote:Here's a pretty cool mod to update the wiper arms on Bumps and Dents using late model F-series arms: http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/12443 ... st14050329
