Carnage!

Post by chad67 »

I am starting a post where we can post up the automotive carnage we find. It doesn't have to be on our trucks, and it doesn't have to even be on our vehicle, but we do have to see it first-hand. I will start it off with the forward clutch disks out of the AOD in my daily driver.

Wonderful...

I no longer have them but I used to have a a whole stack of used head gaskets with oblong bores from by '93 mustang.

Then there was the mangled T5 from my turbo car. Mowed the teeth off of 2nd gear at the track.

This is Carnage! This truck was bought new by a gentleman who owned a construction company with a lot of equipment. When I checked with transportation ministry, there was no record of this truck ever being on the road. It was only used as a yard truck from new and had never been registered. Surprisingly, the speedo still worked and showed just over 60k miles. The chassis was the only part that did not have damage.

The only parts off the body we could save, was the two vent window assemblies, as they were never used. Mike.

I don't have a photo, but when I was in high school I drove over my own battery when I was driving over to my girlfriends house. The inner fender of my 67 was so rusted out that the battery fell out while I was making a left hand turn. I ran over the battery but the truck was still running! I made it the mile or so further to my girlfriends house before one of the cables hit the fender and grounded out.
