Hitch lock

Post by Mancar1 »

Darn back when I bought the 68 I put a hitch lock on. Now today I thought I would finally wire for towing my utility trailer. Since 2010 I have been towing with the V-6 Escape.
Well u guessed it......where is the darn key :? Figures, I will most likely have to remove it without the key. That will be fun.
Anyone have a trick or 2 that I am not aware of :?
I may be 65, but I am always ready to learn. :D

All I have for you is similar to the likes closing the barn door after the horse gets out, but I always have 3-4 keys made, and one always stays inside the vehicle that the lock is hooked up to. The others go in various hiding places, one being in my shop!

Yes I do that also. That is what is driving me nuts. Where did I put them.
Heck I make a list of what to buy when I go to town. Then I forget to look at the list.

Put my P grinder to work. Cut off the shaft and removed the hitch lock a couple hours ago. Anyone care to guess what I found just a few minutes ago. If it was a snake it would have bite me. (Murphy's Law).

Brother, I promise you that you are not the only one who has done something like this! I say if someone looks at you and says they have never screwed up, they either never do ANYTHING themselves or they are liars....

While working on my wife's van, I needed a T45 Torx bit. I thought I had one, looked all over, couldn't find it. Went to the parts store to get one. They only come in a set with a bunch of other sizes. Bought the set, came home, finished the job. While putting the tools away, guess what I found?
