New cragars installed

Post by cochino12 »

found some cragars on craigslist super cheap a little while ago, got some new tires mounted up this weekend. Also the stock heads and exhaust manifolds were cracked, replaced the 360 heads with some 429 heads with a new edelbrock carb and intake, added some LMC exhaust. Runs like a whole new truck now, throttle response is better than my newer trucks.

How the heck did you fit 429/460 heads on an FE? Please explain in detail... I wanna hear the engineering that went into this.

Nice looking truck. Are those wheels 15's and are you running the factory suspension? That's the look I'm going for with mine and it would be great if I could make it happen without having to change the suspension.

Ok maybe 428, I'm REALLY not a Ford guy but I it was my grandfathers and he bought it new and I'm just trying to keep it going.

suspension is stock but I trimmed the coils up front, shackles in the rear and I removed the overloads to get a little more drop.

Thanks for all the comments!!

I put 428 heads on a 390 out of a 67 T-Bird. I put it in a 65 Ford CS.
But hey u call em what ever u want. It is your truck and motor
Years ago I found some beautiful junk yard valve covers on a 429. I was so excited I could not wait to get them home and install them on the above mentioned motor. Well we never stop learning. I am still learning. Every day.
