Re: famous last words...
Got her back from the shop today.... Rag joint made a huge difference! Now I need to focus on the fact that the bearing/bushing in the steering column for the shift linkage is falling out the bottom if the column...anyone dealt with this before?

Re: famous last words...
so for the first time in years I pay someone to fix a vehicle... and the new rag joint broke as I was driving it away from the mechanic shop today then to top it off the 3 speed on the column does not shift between 1st and 2nd either direction. So you have to get out of the truck and do it manually under the hood. Any suggestions?

Re: famous last words...
It sounds like you steering column needs a rebuild, but make sure the cab mounts are good before you try to fix anything else. This is the cause of a lot of shift/rag joint problems. With all of this solid you can then adjust the linkage.wndsofchng06 wrote:so for the first time in years I pay someone to fix a vehicle... and the new rag joint broke as I was driving it away from the mechanic shop today then to top it off the 3 speed on the column does not shift between 1st and 2nd either direction. The OP had it repainted Calypso Coral.. the interior is the original color, Regis Red. It's not as brilliant but really close... the ol' girl need a bit of cleaning. There are smudges and slightly greasy fingerprints from the OP. Maybe this weekend I'll get to it...jlb wrote:
