Scarey thing for motorist - tandem trailer wheel blows off

Basically, a jeep driving down the interstate was hit by the tire/wheel/wheel hub that broke apart from a towed tandem trailer.
I ride motorcycles, that makes the thought of that occurring even scarier.

Brings back a all to familiar incident. Just passing the dobbins exit on 75 north when I hear a wizzing noise and then a loud bang and my work truck jerk to the left. A wheel had come off a car going southbound. It came over the wall and hit the side of my company f150 then shot straight up and hit two cars behind me. Scared the crap out of me.

I am reminded now as to why I don't like Interstates. Actually, I don't like them. This stuff can happen on state highways and farm to market roads as well, but my gut says they are less likely to occur there.
A friend of mine used to lament interstate highways for another reason - said it became too easy for communities to push off the miscreants to other places and that interstates also made it easier for the lower life forms to bring about their poor behavior to places and get away with it (something those lines). A certain truth to that, in my mind.
